Companies are mobilizing their expertise, capabilities, and community resources to assist with the response to the flooding in southern Alberta. Businesses have pledged almost $15 million in support of relief and recovery efforts.  

The donations shown below represent a combination of information submitted by companies and data readily available through public sources.

Allstate Canada

The Allstate Canada Group of Companies announced that it will donate $20,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist in flood recovery and relief efforts in southern Alberta. This donation is in line with a core Allstate Canada Group (ACG) value that encourages all agents and employees to look for ways to make the communities where they live and work better places for everyone.

American Express

American Express announced that it is contributing $25,000 in support of the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts towards communities across Alberta impacted by the recent severe flooding.

Apache Canada Limited

Apache's $500,000 donation includes $250,000 to The Calgary Foundation and an additional $250,000 being directed to grassroots groups and organizations that are supporting the flood relief efforts, including: $100,000 to the Diakonos Benevolent Fund, $50,000 to the Town of High River's relief effort, $50,000 to the Calgary Zoo, and $50,000 to the Town of Canmore's Relief Fund.

ATB Financial

ATB Financial is joining the effort on several fronts, including: donating $100,000 to the Red Cross to support and comfort Albertans affected by the floods, encouraging everyone to donate to the Red Cross online, and accepting donations at any ATB branch across the province (Canadian Red Cross Alberta Relief Fund).

Bank of Montreal 

The Bank of Montreal (BMO) announced a financial flood relief program to assist customers affected by the flooding in Calgary and other locations throughout southern Alberta. In addition, BMO announced a $100,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts in the region.

BASF Canada

BASF announced it will donate $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Floods Fund to assist victims of the recent floods in Southern Alberta.

Bell

Bell announced a donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist Albertans impacted by the flooding disaster in southern Alberta.

BP Canada & BP Foundation

BP Canada is donating $250,000 and the BP Foundation is providing an additional $200,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist in Southern Alberta flood relief efforts. The BP Foundation is a separate legal entity from BP and has donated more than $200 million since 2006 in North America to numerous disaster relief efforts.

Canadian Natural

Canadian Natural will be contributing $1,000,000 to the Calgary and area disaster relief efforts. Canadian Natural is a senior oil and natural gas production company, with continuing operations in its core areas located in Western Canada, the U.K. portion of the North Sea and Offshore Africa.

Canadian Pacific

Canadian Pacific will donate $200,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help flood victims in southern Alberta. Additionally, this Calgary-based railroad will match all employee donations to this cause dollar-for-dollar.

Cenovus Energy

Cenovus Energy is donating $1 million to assist with flood relief efforts in $250,000 will go to the Red Cross for immediate relief efforts. The company will then work southern Alberta. An initial donation of with its community partners to determine how best to allocate the remainder of the donation.

Chevron

On June 25, Chevron announced a $150,000 contribution to the American Red Cross in support of Calgary flood relief. Chevron Canada and U.S.-dollar-paid employees making contributions to the Canadian Red Cross and American Red Cross can have their donations matched by the company dollar-for-dollar. In addition, Chevron Canada will coordinate volunteer activities after the company’s downtown offices in Calgary reopen.On June 25, Chevron announced a $150,000 contribution to the American Red Cross in support of Calgary flood relief. CIBC

CIBC announced it is donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help relief efforts following the severe flooding in Alberta.

ConocoPhillips

ConocoPhillips announced a contribution of US$1 million to support relief efforts following massive flooding in southern Alberta. Half of this amount will be donated to the Red Cross and the other half allocated to local non-profit organizations supporting flooding relief and recovery efforts.

Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse in conjunction with the Credit Suisse Americas Foundation announced a $50,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross. These much needed funds will support the Canadian Red Cross's important efforts to assist the many communities impacted by the floods in Southern Alberta.

Canadian Western Bank Group 

Canadian Western Bank Group (CWB) is donating $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support communities affected by the recent floods in southern Alberta. In addition, CWB Group employees in affected areas will be given a day off with pay to volunteer their time in the coming weeks toward local relief efforts.

Desjardins Group & Western Financial

Desjardins Group (Desjardins) and Western Financial Group (Western) announced  that the organizations are teaming up to donate $200,000 to disaster relief in Alberta after severe flooding devastated several rural and urban communities throughout the province.

Dow Chemical Comapny

In response to the flood crisis in the Province of Alberta, Dow Chemical Canada ULC and Dow AgroSciences Canada Inc announced that they will be donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross – Alberta Flood Relief Fund for use in support of recovery efforts in Alberta’s devastated communities.

Edmonston Eskimos

The Eskimos are dedicating their 2013 season opener on Saturday to the thousands of southern Alberta flood victims. The team has also donated $10,000 to the efforts. 

Encana Corporation

Encana Corporation is donating $500,000 to assist with Alberta flood relief efforts. This includes an initial donation of $250,000 to the Red Cross to assist in immediate relief work in impacted communities, as well as $250,000 to be allocated to a number of Encana’s partners which are actively engaged in the effort in both the Calgary area and elsewhere in southern Alberta. In addition, employee donations to registered charities will be matched by Encana up to $25,000 per employee as part of our matching gifts program.

FirstEnergy Capital

FirstEnergy Capital is pledging to donate a minimum of $100,000 to the Southern Alberta Emergency Relief Fund and invites our clients and our community to cumulatively match this donation.

Fortis Alberta

Fortis Alberta will be giving a $100,000 donation to the Red Cross flood relief efforts.

Guardian Capital Group Limited

Guardian Capital Group Limited (TSX:GCG) (TSX:GCG.A) announced today that, following the recent heavy flooding in Calgary and Southern Alberta, it has made a donation of $25,000 to The Calgary Foundation's Flood Rebuilding Fund, in support of Calgary and area charities in long-term community rebuilding efforts, including in the hardest hit areas of High River, Canmore and surrounding First Nation reserves. In addition to this donation, Guardian will match donations made by employees of Guardian or any of its subsidiaries, to a total additional amount of $25,000.

General Electric Canada

GE Canada announced that it will donate $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help with flood relief efforts in southern Alberta. The company is also matching employee donations to the Canadian Red Cross.

General Mills Foundation

The General Mills Foundation has decided to donate a $25,000 cash grant to assist in flood relief efforts in Calgary. 

Great-West Life, London Life, Canada Life

Great-West Life, London Life, and Canada Life have contributed $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts for flood victims in Alberta. The donation will help support the Canadian Red Cross in providing vital assistance to those affected by the flooding, including shelter, family reunification, first aid, information, clothing, food and assistance finding support.

Hudson's Bay Company

Hudson's Bay Company announced a "Donate your HBC Rewards Points" campaign in support of flood relief efforts in Alberta —  from now until July 15, 2013, customers and Associates can support those affected by donating their HBC Rewards points in Hudson's Bay and Home Outfitters stores across Canada. In addition to funds raised through this program, Hudson's Bay Company will contribute directly to the cause for a total donation of $50,000.

Husky Energy

Calgary-based company Husky Energy is donating $1 million to help with Alberta flood relief and response efforts. “We have witnessed the devastating impact of flooding, but also the resilience of those impacted and the dedication of first responders,” said Husky CEO Asim Ghosh in a release.

Imperial Oil Foundation

In response to the serious flooding situation in southern Alberta, the Imperial Oil Foundation announced a $100,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to support emergency assistance efforts.

Imperial Tobacco Canada

Imperial Tobacco Canada, the leading tobacco company in the country, announced that it will make a $15,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to support the flood relief efforts in Alberta.

Manulife Financial

Manulife Financial announced  that it will donate $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with flood relief and recovery efforts in Calgary and southern Alberta. Canada's largest insurer will also match employee donations towards the efforts to the Canadian Red Cross.

MasterCard Canada

MasterCard Canada announced it will donate $25,000 to Red Cross disaster relief efforts in Alberta and will double the amount MasterCard employees donate.

Manitoba Telecom Services In. 

Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. (MTS Allstream) announced that it will be supporting disaster relief efforts for those affected by the recent flooding in Alberta. MTS Allstream is donating $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross  flood relief efforts in Alberta.  The national communications provider is also sending one of its Toronto-based employees, Ella West, to help lead the relief effort in the role of Director of Relief Operations for the Red Cross.

National Bank

National Bank will donate $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support the organization's relief efforts for the victims of the floods in Calgary, Alberta.

Noise Solutions

Noise Solutions is committed to supporting Calgary and the many affected communities throughout Southern Alberta with a donation of $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross. 

Northlands

Northlands has announced it will donate $25,000 to the Red Cross for flood relief.

Nova Chemicals

Nova Chemicals Corporation announced that it is donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with the flood relief efforts taking place throughout Southern Alberta. NOVA Chemicals will also match its employee contributions to the Canadian Red Cross up to an additional $100,000 to extend the company's reach into nearby communities.

Ontario Real Estate Association and Ontario Realtors Care Foundation

The Ontario Real Estate Association and the Ontario Realtors Care Foundation have announced a combined donation of $40,000 to the Alberta Floods Fund on behalf of Ontario realtors.

Osler Hoskin & Harcourt

Osler cancelled a Stampede Eve Party that it has had for 10 years at the Calgary Zoo. Instead, the firm will use those funds to make a donation $30,000 to the zoo’s recovery effort and $70,000 to the Red Cross Alberta Floods Fund.

Peak of the Market

Peak of the Market has donated $20,000 to the Canadian Red Cross for Alberta flood relief.

PGA Tour Canada

PGA Tour Canada pledged to match Graham DeLaet’s contributions of $1,000 for every birdie and $2,500 for every eagle in the Travelers Golf Championship on June 20-23. DeLaet raised $9,000, which was matched by the PGA Tour Canada. 

PTTEP Canada Limited

Following the worst flooding in Alberta's history, PTTEP Canada Limited, a subsidiary of Thailand-based PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, will donate $1 million to the Canadian Red Cross to help residents affected by the flooding in Calgary and other communities in Southern Alberta.

Q9 Networks

Q9 Networks (Q9) announced it is donating $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Floods Fund to assist with disaster relief efforts in the province.

RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust

RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust announced that it is donating $25,000 to The Calgary Foundation Flood Rebuilding Fund to assist with flood relief efforts in Alberta.

Rogers Communications

Rogers Communications Inc. announced that it will be donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help residents who have been affected by the flooding in Calgary and in other communities across Southern Alberta

Royal & SunAlliance Canada

RSA Canada, the country's third largest P&C insurer, is donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with disaster relief efforts following the significant flooding in Southern Alberta. The donation will help fund the critical role of the Canadian Red Cross in responding to the needs of the thousands of people impacted by the flooding. In addition, RSA is matching the donations of employees across the country, wanting to help in the wake of the disaster.

Royal Bank of Canada

Royal Bank of Canada announced a donation of $125,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts of those affected by the Alberta floods, and are accepting donations in branches across the country.

Scotiabank

Scotiabank  provided a $100,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to support Alberta communities which have been affected by major flooding.

Shaw Communications

Hundreds of Shaw employees, including Global News reporters, are volunteering at relief centers and in hard-hit areas. Last week, the company donated $1 million to the Red Cross to assist with relief efforts.

Shell Canada

Shell Canada is donating more than $550,000 to help Albertans clean up and repair homes and communities following the worst floods in living memory. The donation includes $150,000 to the Canadian Red Cross, $100,000 to Calgary-area social agencies and First Nations, including the hard-hit Siksika Nation, and $250,000 to other affected communities and First Nations across Alberta. Shell has also committed to match its employees' donations to the Canadian Red Cross, which had reached $50,000 by noon on Tuesday 25 June.

Shoppers Drug Mart

Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix is supporting relief efforts to help those Alberta communities affected by the floods by making a donation to the Canadian Red Cross and by working with local stores to ensure supplies and prescription medications are available to those in need. Customers and employees can donate their Shoppers Optimum Points towards this effort and Shoppers Drug Mart and its Associate-owners will match the donation with a cash and product value of up to $150,000.

Sobeys

On June 21st, Sobeys launched Flood Relief Round Up, an in-store campaign that allows customers to round their purchase to the next dollar with proceeds going to the Canadian Red Cross in support of flood relief efforts in Southern Alberta. The campaign will run until July 15 at participating Sobeys and IGA stores across Western Canada, and Sobeys will match donations up to $100,000.

Spectra Energy Corp

Spectra Energy Corp announced a donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist those in need as a result of the extraordinary flooding in Southern Alberta. In addition, the company will match any employee gift from $50 to $7500 to the Canadian Red Cross, under Spectra Energy's matching gift program.

State Farm

State Farm has donated $15,000 to the Canadian Red Cross and members of its claims catastrophe response team are on the scene to help assist Albertans devastated by disastrous floods.

Statoil Canada Limited

Following the worst flooding in Alberta's history, Statoil Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of Norwegian energy company, Statoil ASA, will donate $1 million to the Canadian Red Cross to help residents affected by the flooding in Calgary and other communities in Southern Alberta.

Sun Life Financial

Sun Life Financial is making a donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help people in southern Alberta, where tens of thousands were evacuated during the worst flooding to hit the region in decades.

Suncor Energy

Suncor Energy announced a $1.5 million program to support flood relief efforts in Southern Alberta. The funding and program will be administered through the Suncor Energy Foundation (SEF).

Target Canada

Target Canada is donating $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with flood relief efforts in Alberta.

TD Bank

TD is supporting the relief efforts with a $100,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross. TD Canada Trust branches are also accepting donations on behalf of the Canadian Red Cross from June 26 - July 26, 2013 across the country to support recovery efforts for communities across southern Alberta impacted by the recent floods. 

The Home Depot Canada

The Home Depot® Canada is donating $125,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help residents affected by the flooding in Calgary and other communities in southern Alberta.

Tim Hortons

Tim Hortons announces a $100,000 donation and the new "Alberta Rose" donut as part of multi-tiered Alberta flood relief commitment. Tim Hortons restaurant owners have created a special Alberta Rose donut, with 100% of the sales from the $1 baked good going directly to Red Cross flood relief efforts.

Viterra

Viterra Inc. (Viterra) announced a donation of $75,000 to support ongoing flood relief efforts in Alberta. The donation will go to the Canadian Red Cross as it provides assistance to several communities in southern Alberta, including the city of Calgary.

Wal-Mart

Walmart Canada has set up an in-store and online fundraising campaign to help families in need across the province. Customers in Alberta are invited to make a $1 donation to the Canadian Red Cross at the checkout. In addition to the funds raised in-store and online, the company is committed to donating $56,000 to the Canadian Red Cross' Alberta Floods Appeal.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo & Company announced that it is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross to assist the individuals and families devastated by the recent flooding in Calgary. The American Red Cross has sent disaster relief teams and continues to send donations raised to support the Canadian Red Cross and their relief efforts. 

Wendy's Restaurants of Canada

Wendy's Restaurants of Canada today announced it will donate $10,000 to Canadian Red Cross disaster relief efforts in Alberta.
