Hurricane Laura Coordination Call - Part II

Hurricane Laura made landfall early on August 27 but the amount of devastation is still being assessed. Currently there are nearly 6,000 homes declared either heavily damaged or destroyed with estimates predicting a total of 10,000 – 15,000 homes affected. As of September 1, there are more than 360,000 residents without power and utility services—including electricity—projected to take 8-12 weeks before being fully restored.

Lebanon Coordination Call

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation hosted a coordination call for companies and individuals that are looking to support the humanitarian relief efforts resulting from the deadly explosion in the Port of Beirut on August 4. On the call, we heard from partners who are actively responding, learned what the immediate needs are in the area, as well as the long-term outlook for recovery.
