MBA Case Competition
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s MBA Case Competition gives MBA students nationwide an opportunity to solve real-world challenges facing the business community, network with corporate executives, and compete for $20,000 in prize money.
During the 2021 competition, students will be challenged to create solutions that help close America’s entrepreneurship gap by increasing access to capital for Black entrepreneurs.

2021 MBA Case Competition

November 8, 2021 | Show us what you’ve got! Each team submits their case analysis to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation |
November 22, 2021 | Winners! The U.S. Chamber Foundation announces the three winning teams that will advance to the final round of competition |
December 2, 2021 | The Finals! Three final teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges, who will award first, second, and third place prizes. The audience will be given opportunities to vote for “Best Q&A” and “Best Presenters.” |
Rules
Student Teams
Teams must consist of 3 students each, including any combination of part-time, full-time, or executive MBA students. Each participating school may have an unlimited number of teams enter the competition.
Each team member must be a current student at the educational institution they are representing.
Round One
Each team will submit a case solution in document form. Parameters for the solution submission will be shared when the case is released on October 29.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation will conduct the first round of judging by reviewing the submissions from each team. Three teams will be selected to advance to the final round of the competition.
During round one, submissions will be stripped of school names and made entirely anonymous to ensure fairness.
Final Round
The final round will be held virtually.
Three teams will be selected to present their cases to a panel of judges and an audience of business leaders, innovators, and students.
The judges’ panel for the final round of competition will include C-suite executives, U.S. Chamber of Commerce leadership, and academics.

November 11, 2019 | Eighty-five teams from 44 business schools across the country responded to the Foundation’s call to examine the crucial role of business in society. The group from Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business was one of three teams selected to present its solution at a final competition in Washington, D.C. They competed against teams from University of California, Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business and Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business. |
Rules
Student Teams

- The judges’ panel for the final round of competition will include C-suite executives, U.S. Chamber of Commerce leadership, and academics.
- The final round will be held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s historic headquarters building, situated directly across from the White House.
- The competition will be followed by a networking reception.

Our third annual MBA Case Competition held in partnership with FedEx Freight challenged teams from top MBA programs to examine the benefits a business brings to a community, and recommend a city for a fictitious manufacturing company to open a second headquarters.

2016 Inaugural MBA Competition
About the Competition
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation launched the MBA Case Competition in 2016 in an effort to highlight future business leaders, and show how businesses can do good while also doing well. FedEx Freight served as a partner and underwriting sponsor of the competition. The competition’s judges included Suzanne Clark, Paul Argenti, professor of corporate communication at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, and Jeff Greer, senior vice president of human resources at FedEx Freight.
