Solving for Sustainable Plastics

Businesses of all sizes and sectors are making strides in innovation to help eliminate plastic waste in the environment. This event will discuss gaps and opportunities in sustainable plastics, including how organizations are addressing one of the most ubiquitous plastics in the economy, polyethylene (PET).

As the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s fellow leading their work in sustainable plastics innovation, I had the honor of judging the Plastic Industry Association’s ReFocus Sustainability Innovation Awards. This year, the association received a landmark 52 entrants across three categories: Design, Materials, and End-of-Life. Here are a few of the innovations that were featured.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion By Design

Join us on March 25 as Digital Empowers convenes leaders recognized for inclusive design to provide insights on equity and tech-powered solutions and partnerships in two areas: workplace culture and financial services. Speakers will showcase not only how their technology addresses diversity, equity, and inclusion by their solutions, but also how their design and process were informed by that mission.

Symba Wins First Digital Empowers ‘Pitch for Purpose’ Competition

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) have announced the winner for the inaugural Pitch for Purpose competition. Held in conjunction with the 3rd annual Digital Empowers Summit, the competition featured six mission-driven founders whose startups are leveraging technology to address social and environmental challenges – from eliminating food insecurity to providing a crowdfunding platform for Black entrepreneurs.
