U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Releases First Comprehensive Analysis on Last 20 Years of K-12 Education Policies

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation released new research that examines the impact of data-driven accountability in education policy over the last 20 years and sets the stage for concrete recommendations for the federal role in education. The report is the result of a collective effort with the nation’s leading education experts to create the most comprehensive analysis of the landmark education policies of the past two decades, from No Child Left Behind (NCLB) to Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), as part of the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s Future of Data in K-12 Education initiative.

New Study Identifies More than $650 Million in Annual Economic Opportunity for Mississippi

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation today released a report examining the impact of childcare issues on Mississippi’s state economy. The study found that Mississippi loses an estimated $673 million annually for the state’s economy. This number includes an estimated $120 million annual loss in tax revenue as well as an estimated annual loss to Mississippi employers of $553 million on absences and employee turnover as a result of childcare breakdowns.

This number includes an estimated $65 million annual loss in tax revenue as well as an estimated annual loss to Idaho’s employers of $414 million on absences and employee turnover as a result of childcare breakdowns.
