Resources for the Small Business Community

  • Our Disaster Help Desk for Business is available at 1-888-MY-BIZ-HELP (888-692-4943) to provide businesses and chambers with direct support from disaster recovery experts. The Disaster Help Desk team has advised thousands of small businesses nationwide, and our team is here to help businesses recover as quickly as possible and chart a path forward.
  • Resilience in a Box, developed in partnership with The UPS Foundation, is a suite of resources based on best practices designed to help educate business leaders on disaster preparedness and business resilience. This tool is available in French and Spanish and includes a helpful checklist and top tips that businesses can do now in advance of the next storm.
  • Our Small Business Readiness for Resiliency Program, developed in partnershp with FedEx, helps ensure that small businesses have what they need to deal with the impacts of a disaster in their community and offers grants to those businesses following a disaster. To be eligible for a grant, businesses must first complete a preparedness checklist.
  • Made possible by Shell, these Disaster Quick Guides provide tailored tips for small businesses and chambers looking to prepare and recover from disasters.

Coordination Calls

Following a disaster, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation hosts coordination calls to provide an update from organizations that are actively responding with immediate relief and response efforts. During this briefing, participants share the latest information on the current situation on the ground and how the private sector can support the recovery.

Details on future calls will be announced as they are confirmed.

Cash Donations

When a disaster strikes, the following nonprofit organizations activate their network and capabilities to respond to the most immediate needs that you might consider supporting. If your organization is currently responding to a crisis and would like to be considered for this list, please reach out to resilience@uschamber.com.

Looking to volunteer? Instead of self-deploying, a best practice is to work with established organizations such as the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) or through your state.
